The Kendall-Jackson Heirloom Tomato Festival is fabulous event held every year in September at the K-J Wine Center. There’s gourmet food, wine, music, chef demonstrations, seminars and of course, wine.
Last year they decided to “upscale” the look of the festival, changing from the playful and bright colors of past years, to a more subdued, yet bold look. There was a new event added, called Chef Tables in the Vineyard, which was a special dinner in the vineyard featuring celebrity chefs Guy Fieri, Mario Batali and others. This event needed it’s own logo, one that had a similar look and feel to the Festival logo. I used some of the same elements from the Festival logo — the fonts and colors and a single tomato topped with a chef hat, plus fork and spoon. It looked great embroidered on the Chefs’ jackets. Below is the logo I created for the 14th Annual Festival, which is a more playful look.
